In a previous illustration class we were given the opportunity to choose our own project. I decided to create concept pieces for the book "Mistborn" by Brandon Sanderson as if it were being turned into a movie or television show. These two images are my mock screenshot concepts that incorporate the world and the characters that I developed.

The first one depicts Vin, the primary protagonist, overlooking the city at night through the mists. She is specifically gazing at the keep of a royal family. The mists are a prevalent part of the setting that makes most afraid to go out at night.

The second depicts another main character, Kelsier, battling one of the book's antagonists. The sky is red because of the setting itself. This particular world has a red sky that constantly rains ash. The blue lines coming from Kelsier's body are part of the magic system of the book. Stated simply, the lines point to nearby sources of metal that he can Push or Pull on. I used the lines, ash clouds, and buildings to create diagonal lines to help depict motion and action as well as point between the two characters.
